How To Repair Essence Pouches
Essence pouches are bags that tin agree varying amounts of rune, pure or daeyalt essence for use in the Runecraft skill. Essence pouches are highly prized among runecrafters because they can be used to take larger loads when runecrafting and mining pure essence.
Most pouches are dropped by monsters in the Abyss and the Abyssal Area, accessible after completing Enter the Abyss or by fairy band code A L R . Pouches degrade with use, and must be repaired by visiting the dark mage in the centre of the Completeness (or past contacting him with the NPC Contact Lunar spell) or they will vanish. Notation: Yous do non demand to bring your pouches to the dark mage to take them repaired; pouches that are stored in your banking company volition also exist repaired.
Essence pouches cannot be used for conveying more than Runecrafting cores, dense essence blocks, or dark essence blocks.
It is not possible to boost your Runecrafting level in order to use a higher levelled pouch.
When a player dies while carrying essence pouches, the pouches are dropped on the flooring, simply visible to the player that died with them.
If a pouch with essence inside were to exist dropped, all essence would disappear from the pouch and would not exist retrievable. Multiple pouches of the same size can't exist obtained with the drib trick.

Obtaining [edit | edit source]
All essence pouches (excluding colossal pouches) are dropped by abyssal leeches, guardians, and walkers. They live in 2 areas of Abyssal Space, i accessed through the Mage of Zamorak in level 5 Wilderness north of Edgeville, and the other via fairy rings.
The pouches are dropped in increasing size. If y'all take a modest pouch, which the night mage can requite for complimentary, in your inventory or bank, y'all will get a medium pouch as a drop from an abyssal creature, and so along. Once you lot have a giant pouch, the abyssal creatures will no longer drop pouches. Note that players exercise not demand the required Runecraft level to utilise a pouch in order to receive one as a driblet. A role player does non need to accept previous sizes of pouch in their inventory to receive a pouch of the next size.
There is an first-class spot located in the southward-western almost portion of the Abyssal space where there are good hiding spots in an expanse thick with leeches. Using the fairy rings to reach the Abyssal Surface area (code: A L R ) is a safer option than entering the Abyss with the aid of the Mage of Zamorak. A ring of life and a ane click teleport make this method much less risky. Nutrient such as lobsters are effective equally long every bit the Guardians and Walkers are avoided. The pouches take a higher drop rate in the Abyssal Area.
Tip: The creatures in Completeness do become tolerant after some fourth dimension spent around one place. So if your defences are weak, you may detect a hiding spot and wait until the creatures become tolerant and then only target the weak leeches. Notwithstanding, the tolerance merely works locally, meaning that when you move to a different part of abyss, the creatures become aggressive again.
In lodge to obtain a colossal pouch, the player must create it using a modest, medium, large, giant pouch and an abyssal needle. This requires 85 Runecraft and 56 Crafting.
Degrading [edit | edit source]
The medium, big, behemothic, and colossal pouches will degrade over time. Each one will have a variable number of uses before it degrades. When they do, the capacity of the pouch is reduced past a few essences (3 for the giant pouch, two for the large pouch, 3 for the medium pouch, i for the colossal pouch). The pocket-size pouch does not degrade.
The pouches degrade inside approximately:
- 45 total uses (270 essences) for the medium pouch
- 29 total uses (261 essences) for the large pouch
- 10 full uses (120 essences) for the giant pouch
- eight total uses (320 essences) for the jumbo pouch
Pouches degrade on filling them, non emptying them. Degraded pouches will proceed to degrade and lose essence capacity until they disappear or are repaired. Even so, if a player is wearing a Runecraft cape, then their pouches will non degrade upon filling them (though they volition not automatically be repaired).
There are ii means to repair pouches:
- Talk to the dark mage in the Abyss, and he volition repair them for free. It is not required to accept the pouches in ane's inventory; he can fix pouches fifty-fifty if they are stored in the depository financial institution. For an Abyss runecrafter, it is recommended to just mend the pouches during a usual abyss trip, but players who don't feel comfortable with the Abyss tin exit their pouches in the bank, so there is no take a chance of losing them. All pouches are repaired at the aforementioned time by the Dark mage even if they have not visibly rust-covered.
- Players who have access to the Lunar spellbook can employ the NPC Contact spell to contact the Dark mage and have him repair their pouches from afar. This saves the actor a potentially unsafe trip to the Abyss.
It is also possible to destroy a degraded pouch, so obtain a new, full-capacity pouch from Abyssal monsters. This is not recommended, since it would generally be much faster to but become to the Dark mage.
